David Alan Miller walks us through the Albany Symphony’s weekend of fabulous music. A savage masterpiece, Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, gets its first performance on an Albany Symphony concert in over 25 years. Sorcerer Mickey makes an appearance as does our very own sleepy folk hero, Rip van Winkle, in a wonderful work for narrator and orchestra by American composer David Del Tredici. That’s all Saturday night with a magical Mozart family concert Sunday afternoon.
