Colin Currie, one of the world’s greatest percussionists, returns to our area as soloist with the Albany Symphony for the World Premiere of “Juvenalia,” a Percussion Concerto by Robert Honstein, Saturday night at the Palace Theatre. Also on the program, Ravel’s Bolero and works by Morton Gould and Paul Hindemith. Honstein spoke with us about Currie and the genesis of his work and even played some of the melodies.
