PBS VOTE 2008 For Educators and Students

The site provides lesson plans for educators and interactives for the classroom relating to Election 2008. In addition, users will find links to feeds for election-related podcasts from public television and radio stations and producers as well as an array of social media tools educators can use to engage students in the election process.

Increase students' knowledge of engineering and the design process with the one of the few places on Tv
where kids can learn about engineering.

Design Squad teams take raw materials and with very little adult intervention, using technology and collaboration, transform them into workable solutions. Games, viewing tips and lots of resources for parents and educators are available online.



Biz Kid$Biz Kid$
Fridays, 5:30pm

Rap music, rocking chairs, candy, and custom skateboards -- at first glance, they don't have much in common. Yet each of these represents the dreams and hard work of a Biz Kid!  BIZ KID$  teaches kids about money and business and introduces some amazing young entrepreneurs and philanthropists. 

BIZ KID$ Online has more ways  for your students to learn how to make and manage money.
 

PBS Interactive Web Sites

New Flash Five, a pioneering Web site encouraging 8 to 11-year-olds to learn about current events, brings a fresh way of receiving - and reporting - news online. At the center of News Flash Five is an original, age-appropriate weekly newscast presented online by five animated kids covering five beats: national news, world news, sports, entertainment and technology, and weather and science. The Web site offers comprehensive guides for activities at home and school, including a News and Current Affairs primer and lesson plans.

Go Democracy
The Democracy Project

The 2008 Presidential Election is already gaining the attention of the nation and the world. The PBS Kids Go! Democracy Project  is  an online, interactive site designed to give students  the chance to be President for a day, step inside the voting booth and explore how government affects them.
